Reporting
The principal purpose of EcoStac is to provide you with insight on the state of your land over time. To facilitate this, we provide advanced graphing of quantifiable properties of your land, as well as ways to export these insights.
Graphs and breakpoints
In Farm view, you will be provided with a graph of the currently active map layer, aggregated across your farm's geometry. If the active layer is a categorical property like soil type or land cover, you will see a pie chart with the distribution of the categories across your farm, for the current time of the layer (the pie chart syncs with the map when selecting a different time in the timeline). If the layer represents a continuous quantity like soil carbon, you will see a graph of aggregated values across time. By default the following values are graphed:
- The mean over your farm - the average state of the land
- The standard deviation of the parameter over your farm - the variability of the quantity
- A trendline of the values over time - the percieved trajectory of the quantity over time
Additional values on the graph
You can see additional aggregates of the data over your farm by clicking their respective toggles above the graph: 4. Median value - the middle of the distribution 5. 5th percentile - a sensible benchmark for the bottom of the distribution 6. 95th percentile - the top of the distribution
The slope of the trendline (percieved change per unit of time) will be displayed above the graph. If you would like to investigate the rate of change across your farm before or after a certain event, like a change in land management practices, you can define a breakpoint in time for your farm. To do so, click on the "Set breakpoint" button below the graph and enter a date (and, optionally, a description). Once a breakpoint is set, it will appear as a vertical line across the graph at the appropriate time, the trendline will be split, and separate slopes will be shown above the graph for the left and right sides of the trendline.
Farm details
To get a quick overview of all key parameters of your farm, you can view the dashboard provided by clicking on the "Farm details" button at the top of the left sidebar. Here you will be provided with graphs of key metrics like soil carbon, vegetation indicators and climate, and will be able to export each of the graphs as an image or a table. Also, you can set, change or delete the farm's breakpoint here by clicking the respective buttons under any of the graphs.
Reports
While the Farm details provide a quick overview of your land, you might want to generate a more structured, printable document containing the metrics of your farm. For an outline of report generation please refer to the video below:
You can export your report as a PDF
by clicking on the "Generate PDF" button at the bottom of the left sidebar once a report is selected and displayed.
